tonight's meetup
21 September 2003 01:38So tonight I went out to Cambridge to meet other Boston-area fans of the Boston-based webcomic Something Positive. It was a great time :)
Sadly, the guy I felt I hit it off with the most is married. Grr. The guy I talked with second best is gay.
Where are the wonderful single heterosexual men??
[Addendum the next morning: there actually were some wonderful single heterosexual men there, I think I just had a few too many beers to fully appreciate ;) ]
Otherwise it was wonderful, and I have some signed drawings :) Those will go up some other time. I must sleep now.

on 21 Sep 2003 10:43 (UTC)Living within an hour's travelling distance is also a requirement.
And you know I think you're wonderful.

on 21 Sep 2003 10:24 (UTC)Sobriety having returned, the journal entry has been altered a bit. For the record, you were quite fun to talk to :)

on 21 Sep 2003 10:28 (UTC)Once the evening got into full swing there were too many group conversations and beer towers for me to have made accurate wonderfulness representations, or so I realized upon sobering up... so this journal entry has been altered a bit. I'm not quite so judgemental as I sounded ;)

on 21 Sep 2003 10:54 (UTC)I didn't get that intoxicated since I was driving - I stopped driking early after one pint and 2 9ozs so I'd be sober to drive.

on 21 Sep 2003 11:02 (UTC)Grin. I didn't really think I'd be in danger of not being taken home by anyone there... Even if there wasn't a group of people seeing who I went home with and how to look them up online ;) I guess I'm one of those trusting folk... although I bet it's more commonly known as "naive"...
I also tend to stock up on ellipses, could you tell?

Posted byneither male, nor single, but bi, and definitely wonderful ;)
on 21 Sep 2003 07:56 (UTC)it was nice meeting you at randy-con. thanks for doing the secretarial jottings.
you were one of the people i would've liked to talk at more, but didn't get to since we left early. intended to see johnny depp, but our punishment for leaving was that we only got to see nicholas cage in matchstick_men instead, which was still a decent flick, all things considered.
pardon, i ramble when i'm not fully awake. :P
alas, unless you violently protest, i'd like to add you to my friends list because i like your t-shirt, you swap glasses and have a fun grin.
see you online.
Sonia

self-proclaimed wonderfulness!
on 21 Sep 2003 10:38 (UTC)I'm really interested in this prospect of having a fun grin. I've never had my grin complimented on before... thank you :) Would that be my devilish grin or cheesy grin?
I'm sure we'll get to talk more, especially if this RandyCon thing happens more than once. :)
Re: self-proclaimed wonderfulness!
on 21 Sep 2003 11:13 (UTC)I should go sleep some more, I was up most of the night after getting home and I'm supposed to meet friends for dinner at 6. I just work up a bit after 1 for no reason.
Re: self-proclaimed wonderfulness!
on 21 Sep 2003 12:03 (UTC)I usually rationalize it by saying that should I ever make some sort of viable commercial product, I will already have a significant fan-base built up.
Re: self-proclaimed wonderfulness!
on 21 Sep 2003 12:07 (UTC)I added all of these new people. Then I went to the LJ friends group creation page, and created myself four different groups - real life friends, MUD friends, S*P friends, and communities. I then went to the pages of these individual groups and favoritized them. Now I have the option of four different links to click on, depending on what I want to read! Yay!
Through the miracle of modern science....
on 22 Sep 2003 10:15 (UTC)Of course you could just hang out with us two again and pick up a good looking 3rd guy as a "nightcap."
PS. Killing the wife is not an option sorry! :-)
Re: Through the miracle of modern science....
on 22 Sep 2003 10:23 (UTC)Well, by an extension of your logic, shouldn't I be able to buy my OWN single heterosexual geeky wonderful male on ebay? Hmmm...
Yes, we could hang out again. I would like that :) And if I happened to meet someone wonderful as a cause of hanging out with you, well, you get an RBI for that don't you? *cheesy grin*
Re: Through the miracle of modern science....
on 22 Sep 2003 10:37 (UTC)um..
