So tonight I went out to Cambridge to meet other Boston-area fans of the Boston-based webcomic Something Positive. It was a great time :)

Sadly, the guy I felt I hit it off with the most is married. Grr. The guy I talked with second best is gay.

Where are the wonderful single heterosexual men??

[Addendum the next morning: there actually were some wonderful single heterosexual men there, I think I just had a few too many beers to fully appreciate ;) ]

Otherwise it was wonderful, and I have some signed drawings :) Those will go up some other time. I must sleep now.

"Where are the wonderful single heterosexual men?"

In fairy tales and romantic fiction.

When campared to your four requirements there, how do I match up?

1. Man: My genetalia is an outie, not an innie, so yes.
2. Single: Yes
3. Heterosexual: About 80% yes.
4. Wonderful: Not really.

on 21 Sep 2003 10:43 (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com
but that's not the full list of requirements...

Living within an hour's travelling distance is also a requirement.

And you know I think you're wonderful.

That's ok, I wasn't actually offering anyway.

Your pirate-talk is two days late, you realize?

What makes me think you men don't really appreciate the wrapping as much as the package...

Arrr, it always be the right time for pirate-talk. Ther be some fine frontal lobes afore yon beam, no doubt, but I've heard the ladies often prefer that the physical compliments be indirect, so it be wise to address the sheet instead.

Why, thank you :) Here's another shirt-to-icon for you...

Sobriety having returned, the journal entry has been altered a bit. For the record, you were quite fun to talk to :)

Well, I'm single and heterosexual - but I don't know about wonderful. :-)

It was nice meeting you in any case. ;-)

Well offering me a ride home and fulfilling the offer (rather than... other circumstances) certainly earn you wonderful points. ;)

Once the evening got into full swing there were too many group conversations and beer towers for me to have made accurate wonderfulness representations, or so I realized upon sobering up... so this journal entry has been altered a bit. I'm not quite so judgemental as I sounded ;)

Well, as much as I might've liked to take you home with me, I'm a registered Nice Guy(tm) and I have this little issue with personal honor - I have it. ;-) I'm just the helpful sort. Besides, I live in Worcester, I think you would've noticed it wasn't the way back to Malden, at least 45 minutes into the trip "Are you sure this is a shortcut?"

I didn't get that intoxicated since I was driving - I stopped driking early after one pint and 2 9ozs so I'd be sober to drive.

on 21 Sep 2003 11:02 (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com
Yes, too intoxicated to drive and too intoxicated to find the bus stop (or someone to offer a ride!) are several, several beers apart. Heh.

Grin. I didn't really think I'd be in danger of not being taken home by anyone there... Even if there wasn't a group of people seeing who I went home with and how to look them up online ;) I guess I'm one of those trusting folk... although I bet it's more commonly known as "naive"...

I also tend to stock up on ellipses, could you tell?

though that's not a proposition :)

it was nice meeting you at randy-con. thanks for doing the secretarial jottings.

you were one of the people i would've liked to talk at more, but didn't get to since we left early. intended to see johnny depp, but our punishment for leaving was that we only got to see nicholas cage in matchstick_men instead, which was still a decent flick, all things considered.

pardon, i ramble when i'm not fully awake. :P

alas, unless you violently protest, i'd like to add you to my friends list because i like your t-shirt, you swap glasses and have a fun grin.

see you online.

Sonia

self-proclaimed wonderfulness!

I do not mind at all being added to anyone's friends list. The problem I now have is figuring out if I can handle the spam of adding everyone else to mine! Maybe I'll just have to make separate friends groups and saved pages for each of them... hmmmmmm.....

I'm really interested in this prospect of having a fun grin. I've never had my grin complimented on before... thank you :) Would that be my devilish grin or cheesy grin?

I'm sure we'll get to talk more, especially if this RandyCon thing happens more than once. :)

Yeah, I seem to be posting a lot lately...

I should go sleep some more, I was up most of the night after getting home and I'm supposed to meet friends for dinner at 6. I just work up a bit after 1 for no reason.

I'm in your boat. So tempted to just start adding people willy-nilly, but stumped by the idea of keeping up with that many people's lives.

I usually rationalize it by saying that should I ever make some sort of viable commercial product, I will already have a significant fan-base built up.

Well, I managed it like I said I would manage it...

I added all of these new people. Then I went to the LJ friends group creation page, and created myself four different groups - real life friends, MUD friends, S*P friends, and communities. I then went to the pages of these individual groups and favoritized them. Now I have the option of four different links to click on, depending on what I want to read! Yay!

I have single heterosexual friends. Some are even men. All are geeky! Some geekier than others. I bought them on E-bay. If you would like to meet them let me know (personally, I don't think any of them are "wonderful" material.)

Of course you could just hang out with us two again and pick up a good looking 3rd guy as a "nightcap."

PS. Killing the wife is not an option sorry! :-)
Posted by [identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com
Hehe hope I didn't freak you out, just had a good time talking to you is all. ;)

Well, by an extension of your logic, shouldn't I be able to buy my OWN single heterosexual geeky wonderful male on ebay? Hmmm...

Yes, we could hang out again. I would like that :) And if I happened to meet someone wonderful as a cause of hanging out with you, well, you get an RBI for that don't you? *cheesy grin*
Posted by [identity profile] tragicstory.livejournal.com
Not freaked out at all. Well except for the kitten thing ;-) Just making sure that the fact that I was "taken" for lack of a better word would not dissuade you from meeting up again. So I'll drag my friends to meet you and take it from there at Randy Con 2.

um..

Er, the kitten thing?? Is this something I said whilst inebriated that I should be aware of?

Well we should get started planning RandyCon 2 now shouldn't we....
