So tonight I went out to Cambridge to meet other Boston-area fans of the Boston-based webcomic Something Positive. It was a great time :)

Sadly, the guy I felt I hit it off with the most is married. Grr. The guy I talked with second best is gay.

Where are the wonderful single heterosexual men??

[Addendum the next morning: there actually were some wonderful single heterosexual men there, I think I just had a few too many beers to fully appreciate ;) ]

Otherwise it was wonderful, and I have some signed drawings :) Those will go up some other time. I must sleep now.

Ok here is a tentative breakdown. A MOTEL ROOM (Motel 6, red roof inn, super 8) would run around 80-120 for 1 night. A HOTEL ROOM would be 180 on up. The main problem would be noise level.

A keg of good (killians)beer is 100 + 50 deposit. You would also need a garbage can or something to hold ice around it. A keg holds 15.5 gallons or 206 12oz servings. So it ends up being 50 cents a beer. The towers had 84 oz or 7 servings at the cost of $2.85 a beer.

****BEST DEAL**** Next time meet at a restraunt that has BYOB and see if we can bring in a keg. This would be the cheapest alternative but it would lack the laid back comfort and security of a hotel room.

I think the cheapest best alternative is finding someone's house that can handle such a party with a keg or two. ;)

I would have no problem with it, but my housemate would. That type of gathering isn't his thing.

However... *ponder*... he might have some kind of trip or vacation coming up.

We'd have to find out if anyone were allergic to cats. I have two.
