June sickness
16 June 2009 14:30I came down sick on Sunday night. In the past 42 hours, I have slept 32 hours. I haven't showered in three days, but I'm about to go fix that part. When awake, I've mostly been lying in bed playing Chrono Trigger on
londo's DS that he was so nice to lend me. Oh, and coughing and sneezing and blowing my nose and whining. And reading LJ and following things in Iran.
I am horribly under-socialized and whiny. This (being sick) is the sucky party about living alone.

Tonight I cooked a dinner that included mushrooms, although cooked in olive oil this year. There was a point where I opened the jar that contained the sauce I wanted to put on my food, saw fuzzy bits, and - I admit - stared at them for a bit wondering if I could somehow avoid chucking the whole thing in the trash. However, I ultimately gave in to the pressures of learning from my mistakes (did I ever actually make a post explaining the stupidity that led to that bout of illness, or is my reputation as someone to allow to cook your meals safe amongst most of you?) and did in fact throw it out.
So, in short, nothing fuzzy was involved in the cooking of tonight's dinner, and I'm on track to enjoy more of this year's Lunacon than last year, even if this year I'm only going for two days.

home from Texas
28 December 2008 18:54Home from Texas... and sick. I seem to have picked up some kind of illness over the past 24 hours. Ultra-sore throat, sleepiness, acheyness, general malaise. Grump.
The good news is that Harvard is closed this week, so I'm only working my usual 40-hour week instead of the 50+ hour week. Also this means I have 17 hours before I have to be at work, and can spend a bunch of those sleeping. I'm headed off to do that now.
