Today I: woke up, ate breakfast, fiddled around on the internet, took down my french braid, knitted, flew a plane, and got a haircut.

[livejournal.com profile] goldbug, had you guessed correctly? :)

Details later. Right now: I flew this Cessna 172SP on a "Discovery Flight" at with Executive Flyers Aviation at Hanscom (regional airport in Bedford, MA). Boston looks just gorgeous from 3,000ft.

Oh, and just a trim. ;)

Oddly enough, I guessed correctly.

Did you know that the Beatles once flew into KBED before a concert at Boston Garden?

Interesting. Were you reading my journal as far back as college, when I took ground school?

I did not know that! Interesting. It seemed pretty heavily used for a small civilian airport.

Nope. I just have an interest in general aviation and I know Phil Greenspun ([livejournal.com profile] philg) flies out of Hanscom a lot.

Hanscom's busy because T. F. Green and Manchester-Boston have picked up more commercial service so Hanscom caught a lot of their former general and business aviation traffic. Also, Hanscom Field's runways are used by adjacent Hanscom AFB.

(And man, I really should make an aviation icon. I meant to after the day I crapped trivia about aviation geekery in Las Vegas.)

Interesting. I didn't know you were interested in aviation. :)

I knew about the AFB and perhaps could've guessed about the general aviation traffic coming from PVD and MHT, due to the fact that I fly commercially out of those two airports more than I do out of Boston!

You inspired me to make an aviation icon first. :)

(Nifty about the Cessna. ;)

It occurred to me while I was in the salon to make the post like this, because some people would end thinking only of the haircut. :) Hooray, justification!

I'm serious, though, it was only a slight trim. There is still plenty to braid. :)

Muahahaha. :) Seriously, I doubt you'll notice. londo says he does, but he's a long hair snob.

Pft, I thought you had a single guess. Well, I assumed you had it figured out, what with being someone who knew me when I took the class at OU. :)

Sounds like you found that expensive hobby I was recommending a year or two ago. Let's see where it takes you. The Sky's the Limit!

Er, believe me, recommended a year or two ago by you was NOT the first time it crossed my mind. And yes, expensive. :P Let's see where *I* can take me, haha.

Awesome! I love the all-too-brief glimpses I get of Boston from the air when I take a commercial plane flight.
