I was inspired by a reversible bag I saw on [livejournal.com profile] sew_hip and needed a birthday present for [livejournal.com profile] londo's little toddler niece whose birthday party I'm attending on Saturday, so I made her a bag! On one side it's a pretty tie-dyed print and the other is bright yellow fleece with green frogs. I have been sitting on that frog fabric for so long without anything to do with it. For the strap I used a rainbow-colored ribbon I had that matches the tie-dye pretty well.

I'm so proud of myself!!

Now the question is, will a ... 4, I think, year old like this? It's bright and colorful, and a good size for carrying toys and books... We'll see I guess. If not then I'm keeping it! ;)

That bag is great! It is really pretty. I totally think a four year old will like it. (I've had an obsessjon with bags since I was really young, myslef) I see little kids come in to the library with their own bags; it's a big deal for them to get to put their books in their own bag.

I'm always so impressed with your sewing projects. Thanks for posting such terriffic inspiration!

I think a 4 year old will love that!

Not only is it brightly colored, but also it looks a lot like a purse. She will think she is a very big girl, having that! And besides, the frogs rock.

The frogs do rock. I still have extra of that fabric, so I might have to make myself a frog bag!

Nod, if nothing else I can just cut off the selvage edges and have a little blanket :)

Thanks!

Do you have any cool clubby ideas for the remainder of my frog fabric? There's not much, less than a yard, but I need to do something neat with it!

See I thought (back when I had more fabric) of making a bikini top and skirt out of it, but the print is so big that it'd be hard to make the bikini top... Unless, I could possibly cut it out to place a frog smack dab on the front of each breast! Heehee.

I noticed that you were listening to Dashboard Confessional. Are they any good? They are going to be playing at the Tears for Fears/Morrissey show next month but I don't really know anything about them.

Dashboard Confessional is actually just one guy, although sometimes he plays with a band... I dunno what will be happening at your show. He's emo-core. The chicks love him. That includes me. ;)

Although, I like his old stuff more than the new.

Well, *I* love it! I think she will, too - she very much wants bookbags and purses, like her big sister. (Psst . . . she's three . . . )

You don't know me, but I'm a friend of [livejournal.com profile] londo's. All I could think of when I saw the tye-dyed side was, "It's his neice, of COURSE she'll like tye-dye!"

;)

Hehe, yup... she's his neice and she idolizes him, so tie-dye is a winning fabric for her present!
