Another point for using the client to update instead of the web page:

When you're at the end of a long post, but you're looking in another window for a link to something to put at the end of your long post, and when you click on the link it redirects your FIRST window to the link, therefore losing your long post.

It was just a long, long rant about Buffy. I think I'll just go to bed. BUT - if anyone wants to rant about Buffy with me sometime, I need to rant. Heh.

That episode seems so long ago... The season's taken on a different kinda character since the Oct/Nov. They've made lotsa references to the first and second seasons, though not nearly as many as i think we were promised.
But anyway, what I really liked about the Selfless episode was that Anya finally acknowledged that she'd spent all of her 2000+ years defining herself through the men in her life. Her solo that had gotten cut from OMWF was placed better here than it would have been last season.
I really hate that whole Buffy/Spike things, although prolly quite a bit less than i did last year. I had to watch most of Something Blue with my eyes closed, i thought the buffy/spike make-out scenes were GROSS!! I think i had my eyes closed through that scene in Wrecked too. I do like what Spike's feelings for Buffy have done for the character. He's all with the depth and inner personality now. it's cute. :)
Ya know, these situations are totally realistic. They just kinda blown up out-of-proportion like the feel IRL, if not like they actually are. That's what helps to identify with them, they speak to our psyche and not just to our mind.
hmm, i hope i was allowed to rant back.
:)

You were absolutely allowed to rant back. Now that I'm watching episodes "on-time", you can even check my main page and rant about the current episodes. Or check out the buffyphilosophy LJ community... it actually IS "intelligent buffy discussion" most of the time. ;)

Heh I watched all of this season for the first time in the span of the last week, so of course they will seem much "longer ago" to you than to me. ;) Silly me...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the solo was "cut" from OMWF and inserted into this season... I think it was created post-OMWF, specifically for this episode, just meant to be a flashback to OMWF. Because you're right, the solo would make NO sense in the context of OMWF.

Why does a Spike/Buffy relationship bother you? I have to admit I missed most of season 4, where it was explained why Spike is not a bad guy anymore (yeah I understand the chip, but that doesn't make him stop being an EVIL DEMON)... but taking into account the fact that he IS alright and in touch with his human side, I think he and Buffy are great together. What they say in "Wrecked" is true - they're both alone, one-of-a-kind in their worlds, and therefore make perfect sense together. As much as Buffy and Angel did - Buffy was a lot more innocent in the first few seasons, so Angel was the better match, but now she has seen more and had some encounters with the dark side, making Spike the good mate. I do hope she "tells him" before the end of the show.

Although I would like to see ONE relationship actually work out where both the participants live happily! Grr (argh).

If you've caught tonight's episode, check out my main page rant. And, if you're interested, my one on buffyphilosophy.
