Walkin' in Cambridge
26 April 2008 22:33Today I walked 8.5 miles.
Earlier in the day I had planned on going out and spending time in the sun on the Esplanade, which I've never actually gone to, but those plans kept being pushed back until it was too late. Also, I found out that even though it looked nice and sunny outside, it was actually cold compared to the weather all week long, and I would require long sleeves and perhaps a coat to be happy.
Eventually I did find a plan to get myself out of the house - I decided to indulge in the craving for salsa con queso that I've been having for a few weeks, and find myself some decent Mexican food. After some searching online, I planned out an adventure, and off I went.
First, I walked from my house to Central Square T station, which is a 2/3-mile walk. I took the T to Porter Square, and then I walked from there to Jose's, another 1-1/3 mile. Deciding not to go straight home, I walked from there to Fresh Pond Mall, 1-1/2 mile. I futzed around in TJ Maxx for a while, but didn't buy anything since I'm going shopping with
k1ttycat tomorrow. Still restless, I decided to walk all the way home from Fresh Pond after that, by way of Harvard. This was a 5-mile walk. I just got in, fed the cats, got myself some water, and sat down to make this post. I feel pretty good about indulging myself in bad, fatty salsa con queso after this.
One of the things I saw during my walk home was a guy dragging a Christmas tree out of his house onto the sidewalk, assumedly for trash pickup. Dude, it's the end of April! Snerk.
