goodbye to a bag
13 October 2007 23:23Tonight, I retire a backpack that has been with me almost as long as my LJ has.
After six years of constant use, the loss of multiple drawstring closures, the rips of multiple pockets, being stolen and found, moving halfway across the country, flying all the way across the country... it is time to say goodbye to an old friend.
I'm having a moment here.
I still don't have a full replacement for it, but today I found my Eastsport, um, er, organizer? gear bag? (it looks kind of like this but in a less lame, dark green canvas design) which holds all of my purse-type stuff as well as a few other things. I can supplement that with a couple of totes for larger items until Christmas, when I can request a gift certificate to R.E.Load Bags and get the one I want custom-made.
I still need to visit
hakamadare and
chaiya sometime (unless in my failure to make it out there yet they have done away with their extra bags, which is totally valid) and also
freerange_snark, who has offered to let me try out messenger bags. Ugh, I suck at time management.
