This will be a very piecewise journal entry as I get a few things settled while writing it...

Fear my 19 new emails.
---
Email is done. A few livejournal replies in there that I probably won't continue the to reply to. Lots of junk mail. Some money sent to me. Whee! Now it's time to check 3k....
---
....and an hour later, I'm done! The first logon after an OMP leads to a lot of stuff to take care of... new mywho names, catching up on boards and writing notes about the OMP for the people who missed it... And sharing all the stories :)

Speaking of, in the interest of NOT putting a full page-long rant on here, I'm going to write my OMP story on notepad, put it up on my school page, and link to it here. That way you can comment on it from here but it won't spam all your other friends' entries off of the page.
--
Okay, the story is HERE. It's nice and long, and I attempted to use as many real names as possible (while giving their mudname equivalents). I'd like everyone to know it's now 6pm and I've spent all day writing that freaking thing. If I've missed anything (and you're were there and you know it) please let me know!

So there you go. I am now completely exhausted. The entire weekend, not much sleep, and my flights this morning have just all come crashing down on me. I think I might curl up on the floor of the lab...

Well, you know (and I'm writing this more for the people who DON'T know and need to realize this) that what you read was only a small small portion of what went on at the actual OMP - just the stuff that I chose to take part in. The whole OMP was not just people getting drunk and watching porn and calling strippers. So OK, this reply doesn't really apply to what you said at all, Ryan, except that there is probably a lot more of the things you would like to see and do than you think. I think this reply is more directed towards the person who told me that after reading my story, they don't want to go to any OMPs. I think that's a rather uninformed and irrationally early decision to make going off of one person's experiences...

I'll quit ranting now.

OMPing

OMPs are a hell of a lot of fun. It's cool to meet new people and chat with them about stuff. I couldn't make it this year, but definately going next year if it's closer than Vegas was. :P

Yes, and OMPs are a lot of fun when you're there, too :)

I think my talking about drinking and strippers managed to put a few people off. But it's quite possible to have fun at an OMP without a drop of alcohol and no (casual) sex. This was the first OMP I've drank at (being 21) and the first OMP that I've ever heard of any kind of strippers/prostitues be at (because it was Vegas, and legal, and those guys had won so much money they were out of their minds). However, the last two OMPs were also totally great times -- the UNO tourneys, the scavenger hunts, the door prizes, staking out the lobbies and talking to everyone, the dog punting (sadly missed this year because there was nowhere to do it)...

:)
I missed you this year, hon. But I think I understand why you didn't come.

I have no problem with the drinking or the strippers/prostitues... you know that... you also know how much i love all the people on the mud... and thats the reason why i tend to avoid such gatherings of mudders (Drunkenfest and Squidfest are differant, but i don't need to explain that to you) ;)

Heh yeah but there are actually a lot of mudders that are cool people... And it's easy to avoid the annoying ones.
