Interesting responses to my poll about song lyrics - twice as many people skip over them as cherish them for their insight. Hmm. Well, I'll just have to remember, if I ever post them non-privately, that not everyone will be reading. :) Thanks to everyone for your honest answers. I answered honestly as well. Even though I wanted to post lyrics for everyone to read and empathize with me, when I see it in other people's journals I tend to roll my eyes at them. TEND TO, now, don't get all emotional at me. ;)

InterconG is this weekend! Yay! I have a hotel room, and londo and I and our friend Lori from out of town are even getting a rental car for the weekend. Bumming a ride for one up to Chelmsford is generally doable, bumming a ride for two a little less so, but asking someone to schlep all three of us to the hotel AND get her to the Manchester Airport on Sunday night is probably asking a bit much. Plus, thanks to my bank redesigning their "Discount Services" web page, I now know for a fact that I have insurance coverage when I rent cars through them, without having to pay the extra fees at the rental agencies. WOO ON THAT. Also, there's a "Rent a car for 3 weekend days, get one free," special that we're totally using this weekend.

Oh, and you know, characters. I got into Orgia because gower decided to take pity on us poor waitlisted folk, yay! I also have a fun-to-costume who-knows-how-fun-to-play-yet-'cause-it's-an-amnesia-character in Unhallowed University (anyone have a large - and I mean large - plastic fishbowl type thing that they're willing to have destroyed part with?) Also, hooray for Intercon GonZo. I am in the meta-game in the meta-game (4 Bad Larps in 40 Bad Minutes, inside GZ), Om (which looks... intruiging!), Wolfpack (Years of Crossroads have met set for this one), and Cliffhanger. The character sheet for Cliffhanger should NOT be this long - it's a 45 minute long game! Oh noes! But it's a type of character I've never played before, so it'll be fun. I think. I've been advised by The Internet that my character should solve all her problems by ripping her shirt off in the first minute of game and using the power of Boobies to command the others. >_> Not actually going to do that, but amusing thought.

I went into a cleaning fit today and completely upturned our bedroom so as to be able to sweep the entire floor. Now I can walk around without shoes on (for another few days)! I happened to find some extra Christmas yarn I had forgotten about. This year, both londo's mother and grandmother gifted me with yarns for Christmas. Some of it was in reasonable shades of purple and dark blue, and those are the skeins I had remembered and are sorted in my stash now. This box, however, held 6 skeins of Lion Bouclé in the Gelato colorway: "Orange, cerise, deep purple and lime, yum!" according to their website. In real life it is fairly hideous. londo and I have been discussing what to do with it. If it weren't 70% acrylic, I'd make him socks out of it (HIS IDEA.) I feel like it should just go up on knitswap, but he wants to do something to take advantage of the pure ugliness of the colorway. This is me, shaking my head sadly. I've offered a really hideous sweatervest, though, so perhaps we do have a winner. ;)

I should really be in bed, but for some reason I couldn't get to sleep when I was in there a few hours ago. It is a good night for insomnia, though; I don't have work tomorrow, and the only plans are for costume shopping and perhaps a trip to Target to spend this gift card we got for Christmas and haven't used yet. Socks and underwear, yo.

Its a shame that more women dont take the advice from the internet. The world would be a much better place if all women attempted to solve things by using the power of Boobies! Well....at least a prettier place.

Modesty Blaise (70s action heroine) used to regularly exploit the power of her Boobies. When she needed to attack a room full of bad guys, she'd usually take off her shirt first, to gain just a bit of crucial distraction time before they noticed her guns :)

"YUM" colors like that deserve to be made into hats and scarves and mittens and then either gifted upon the wee ones in our lives who don't know better or those whom we don't like very much in particular.

This yarn WOULD make good ("good" in the sense of "good uses for acrylic yarn") hats and scarves and mittens. But really, I don't know that many wee ones and I don't make knit items for people I don't like very much. ;)
