juldea: (knitting)

I have finished my Rogue! Yes, finally. I don't know when I began the actual knitting, but some LJ search has revealed that I bought the yarn on January 6, 2005 and was in progress soon after. This has been just shy of a 2-year sweater!

I did the cardigan modification as well as two slight modifications of my own: a few short rows on the front for bust shaping, and a slight hood change that created a ponytail opening! It's a bit higher than I normally keep my ponytails, but it still works. If the opening turns out to not be useful because of the placement I still have the option of sewing it closed.

And now, pictures. These were all taken with my cell phone camera since I'm at my mom's house for the holidays and no one has a "real" camera here, so please excuse the fuzziness. If you want to browse the pictures one by one, start here and use the little arrows to navigate to the right. If you don't mind loading them all on one page... ... look right here!

For the knit geeks out there, this was knitted on mostly-size-5 Denise needles with Reynolds Candide yarn in color #10, Green Heather. 100% wool and VERY warm.

And no, it is not blocked yet. ;)

Well, that's all the pattern's doing. :) But I'll take credit for execution!

That. Is the awesome. You know I've had that pullover bookmarked for ages, despite being almsot completely incapable of basic knitwork.

Thanks. :) It is a well-detailed pattern, so when you get the skill it is not hard to follow.

Yep, this is the one I was working on at Thanksgiving. Finally finished it, after MANY stages of ripping out and restarting. :P But hooray, the finished product is so worth it! :)

Oh wow. I absolutely LOVE it.

I would pay money for one of those.

How much money? *speculative look*

Warning, though: sweaters take a long time to make by hand, and they require a lot of possibly expensive yarn. I know that the prices I think are reasonable for someone to give me to make a sweater are more than I'd think are reasonable if I were on the other end of the bargain. Of course, that's when bartering comes into play, which is a different beast altogether...

It looks great! I've just started to teach myself knitting (I'm at the drop cursing at needles and yarn stage) and I can only imagine the amount of work that took.
