Best Music Poll

etherial and I went to the Best Music Poll tonight. It was good.

We ate dinner at Fresh City. They have a wrap called the "feta compli." It was really good.

We unfortunately got to the concert right as MC Lars's set ended, so we didn't catch any of that. We were close and up front for all of Ok Go, however, who ROCKED. They even did a live version of their extremely popular music video. That alone was worth all of the price of admission.

The only other notable band we saw was Nada Surf, who in fact DOES have other songs than "Popular" (they DID open with it.)

There was a great deal of people watching, and an amusing interchange during Nada Surf with a hot drunk chick, her boyfriend, and the drunk guy she kept flirting with instead of her boyfriend. She was REALLY trashed.

I think the only other thing to note here is that I should have NEVER told my boss, "I'm going to a concert tonight," because now I don't even have the option of calling in sick today. Oh no. She KNOWS. I have to go in all bleary-eyed and make the best of it.

Seeing Nada Surf play "Popular" was a similar experience to seeing Blackalicious not play "Powers". They sounded like an almost completely different act.

I think it was probably done for the, "Hey, we're THAT band, for those of you who don't know our current stuff..." factor.
