I've been needing to replace my sneakers for a while; I've had them for a good five years or so, worked them hard, and the holes in the outer toe were starting to be big enough that I could've fit a pinky toe through them, if I ever wore them without socks. And then, yesterday, after the crazy snowstorm Boston got, I stepped directly into an icy puddle deep enough to drench my entire foot.
Goodbye, old shoes. You did me well.
I stopped by TJ Maxx in Downtown Crossing today on a whim before Weight Watchers. There, on clearance, $16, were these babies. Now mine.
Yayyyyy, shoes.

on 25 Jan 2006 13:44 (UTC)You've never told me you like my semicolon use! I find that the way I want to say things, and therefore type them, involves lots of semicolons, parenthesis, and dashes. A lot of the time I think that makes my writing weighty and bothersome, so I'm glad someone has told me the opposite. ;)

I also feel that the proper use of semicolons is clearly a sign of somebody I need to friend. Thank God I did it already ::grin::
