I should probably go to bed soon. Still haven't since my last post...

I did mention that I had made an Arisia schedule. It contained 24 items, some of which conflicted with each other. I made it to 6 of those, and consider it acceptable. ;) Most of the absences were due to arriving late on Friday and having a difficult morning on Sunday. (More about that later.)

I won't do the name-drop thing, because oh god I saw lots of people. In fact, I'm going to mention the people I didn't see at all, or much. I wouldn't believe that [livejournal.com profile] kestrell was there if many of you who are reputable didn't say she was, and I thought the same thing about [livejournal.com profile] tpau until I ran into her Saturday night at a party. Other people I saw a decent amount; not enough for real 'hanging out' but that's not what Arisia really offers to me.

This year I attempted to volunteer for 12 hours so as to earn next year's con for free. It didn't happen; I only managed 6 hours of actual work, although I got doubletime for 2 of those and therefore did earn the 8 hours that will get me a t-shirt. Perhaps if I had been around on Friday night, or had spent less time partying on Saturday and therefore less time recovering on Sunday, I could've been active for more of con and therefore had time to spend volunteering. As it was, there was too much fun and panels and such that I wanted to do that volunteering fell by the wayside. Oh well. I'll just have to give money and y'know, support the con. ;)

Let's see, what happened that was special this weekend?
  • When I first signed up for volunteering, they had just gotten a phone call from Con Suite for someone to come upstairs and do dishes, so I went up. Turns out that [livejournal.com profile] londo had placed the call. ;) He needed dishes done, and they sent him his girlfriend. Sigh.
  • I wore all black velvety stuff on Friday, including a black velvet corset, and got greatly complimented. I was happy with the outfit before the compliments, so it was just overall good.
  • Saturday night: londo went to sleep early, but I was still awake for a while yet, so I decided to get drunk for the first time since March. March, I tell you! So I took my friend Erin and we used our boobs to score free liquor. Okay, so not quite, because the liquor was free to anyone. There was this drink I had heard about last year called Rocket Fuel that was being offered at a room party. Rocket Fuel is made with Everclear, dry ice, and lemon/limeade. I had a lot of Rocket Fuel over the course of several hours, as it just didn't seem to be doing its job for me. After a while, of course, it did finally kick in, and I had a very drunk experience. Whee! However, I did pay for it the next day. Sigh. Waking up, drinking water, taking a shower, and while in the shower having the water return out the same way it came in is not a pleasant experience. At least the water was the only thing in my stomach to do so, however. Although it was 4pm before I stopped having to hang around a bathroom, and more like 6pm before I was able to eat or drink ANYTHING and keep it down. Actually, the worst part of all of that was that other than my stomach refusing anything, I felt fine. I had no headache or anything like that - other than general sleepiness - but I couldn't eat or drink. Grar.
  • Friday night's Bad 70s Sci-Fi Porn film. Holy crap. Describing any of that would violate my strict LJ filter rules, but just believe me when I say that this movie was Really Bad.
  • Is Howl's Moving Castle that weird and disjointed, or did I fall asleep during parts of it? Both are reasonable answers.
  • Someone had crocheted a Flying Spaghetti Monster hat. It was ADORABLE. And I was touched by his noodley appendages!

I think that's it for now. If I think of anything else that was momentous, I will definitely let you know.

As long as the output is only fluid, that's true. Clogging a drain on the other hand is no fun.

Clogging your drain is no fun.

Clogging a hotel's drain where they're obligated to send a guy up to fix it isn't nearly as bad. Er, for you.

True, although if one is in fact mid-shower that still presents difficulties.
