So, next Wednesday I'm taking Pixel to the vet for the first time since moving to Massachusetts (oops.) The office is not so far away that I need to borrow a car, but it is far enough that trying to carry her in her carrier would probably be too much for my poor arms.

...so I'm pondering laying a blanket in the bottom of our shopping cart and taking her there in that. :) (I do have a harness and leash to put on her, JUST IN CASE she decides to be brave and jump out.)

This idea makes me very happy. I just wonder if she'll have the same idea.

(ps - the userpic is Matrix, as I have no userpics of Pixel. I do have pictures of here here, though.)

i think that sounds fantastic, but you are aware that you are going to look like a crazy person pushing a cat in a shopping basket thing down the street :). you need to create a sign that says "my cat is going to see the vet. this is not our usual method of spending time together."

Hahahaha!

I don't mind looking like a crazy person. :)

Does she spook with unknown noises? I'd put her in a carrier and bungie it to the cart if you can. My cats would freak out when they heard traffic noises.

She doesn't really spook, no, and when she gets afraid she's more likely to try to curl into a ball than to jump out and try to get away. Anyway, that's what the harness/leash is for.
