So, another shakeup in the office - one of my co-workers (my favorite!) is retiring.

Unlike the guy who left, HER position is being officially posted. And my boss has told me so, and that I should not fail to apply for it. And that it would bring me a raise.

Woot. Guess I'll be sparkling up the resume tonight.

Didn't you just get a promotion/raise recently? My goodness it sounds like someone is being fast tracked. :)

No, I didn't - that's why I mentioned that THIS time, the position is actually open officially. Right now I'm working in the shoes of a higher-positioned ex-co-worker, whose position wasn't actually opened up for applications even though they're having me do the job, hence I didn't actually get a promotion or a raise and yet am doing more work with bigger responsibilities. >_

Does this mean your old position could be opening? (eyes [livejournal.com profile] galaneia and/or [livejournal.com profile] hfcougar)

My old position has already been filled with a temp; I've been working in the capacity of a buyer for a few weeks now. The company is too big for me to have any say in how it is filled, sadly. I tried. We have to fill out a "temporary worker requisition form" which goes to HR, and they have a pool of applicants from various temp agencies...
