juldea: (sleepy)

See what I meant about sleep schedule all messed up? Ah well, I'll pass out soon. Last night I passed out in bed watching londo play video games... he apparently took my glasses off for me and covered me with blankets. :) He is being very wonderful throughout all of this, with me being pretty pathetic and having him bring me food and drink and anything else I want.

Anyway. Managed to get in to see a chriopractor today (found out it was covered by insurance, yay $10 copay!) I am probably dealing with an irritated if not pinched nerve due to pelvis and vertebrae locked in unfortunate positions AND some disks being a little compressed the wrong way. Bleh. She hooked me up to an electro-stimulation machine thingy for a while, which was all tingly, with ice on top of that to calm down the area. Then I had to really painfully contort myself in a few positions so that she could 'crack' some areas. Assumedly my legs are lined up again, now. Anyway, I was told that I wasn't going to feel immediately better and that I might even feel worse afterwards, which was definitely the truth. I could barely get home. :( But I've spent all day on my back again, and it's feeling better.

I'm going for more massage on Thursday, and then back to the chriopractor on Saturday morning. I don't know if I'll feel able to go to work in the morning but I hope so; this is unpaid absence :( I certainly hope I'm able to go to Crossroads this weekend! Cross your fingers for me.

Okay, have sat long enough. Back to bed now.

Wifey! Thank you for the knowledgable words. The only thing I know about tens units is that there are some kinks that involve them. >_> (*shudder*, I'm really not a big fan of electricity and me combining in most ways.)

I'd have to ask Vogon how much the TENS unit he has costs, but it's a truly wonderful thing to have at home. My lower back pain has gotten much more managable in the past year and a half and we've tried acustimulation for nausea as well. Here's a bunch of posts from last year where I talked about it: http://www.livejournal.com/users/oddharmonic/tag/615.845_tens

Ah, I remember reading those. Is there a class to go to to operate one? :P They look fairly scary. And, well, fairly expensive.
