Dammit. I should have stopped reading Ode to Billy Joe when I realized that I would finish it on the bus before work. Now I'm going to spend most of the morning trying not to cry at my desk thinking about it.

(As a side note, I finished Harry Potter 6 a few days ago, too. But interestingly, it didn't make me cry.)

No crying was necessary. The ending was unavoidable, and not all that surprising. Even I didn't cry, and I cry during that old phone company commercial, with the kid who ran away from home, and he calls his mom and says "Mom, I want to come home".

And I *do* cry on reading some things. Most recently when re-reading the "Valerie" section of V For Vendetta, for the N-th time.
