Anyone buying this and want to lend it to me when you're done? I don't like buying hardcovers...

Alternately, do we know if public libraries stock up on copies of books such as this? *goes to investigate*

Yeah, they also have 1278 holds already on it. I prefer getting it second from [livejournal.com profile] tpau. ;)

Yeah, it'll probably take longer to get it from you to me than it will for either of us to read it!

Could I get in queue? I don't like buying paperbacks either. And I have homework I should be doing. But come August, I should be able to do recreational reading again. I hope!

I happen to know someone who will be spending this weekend OCR-ing the book, if you're interested in a (probably slightly corrupt) e-text.

Hah! Thanks for the offer, but I prefer the paper sort for longer reading projects.

In general, I still prefer paper to pixels. But for some circumstances (frex, large hardcover books that I'd like to read while on the T), I'm happier using my PDA. Especially the "wrist joints" part of me...

How does that work? I mean, I have arm problems holding up the book, but I also have arm problems holding up the PDA. (Reading it on a monitor in a nicely ergonomic desk-setup is fine.) You don't have problems reading from a PDA?

I have no problems with the PDA. Well, no more than I would with a typical paperback. Really *lengthy* reading sessions can lead to tiredness.

The PDA is lower resolution than paper, and can be difficult to read under direct sunlight. On the flip side, it's light, and I *always* have it with me, so I can read a few pages easily while waiting in line or whatever. Also, being able to do a text search is occasionally handy.

oooh, that'd be even BETTER than a paper copy, as I can read it at work! ;)

You are more than welcome to borrow mine when I am done--I will be able to lend it out the weekend after it comes (I will be on vacation next week while I read it). Additionally, if you still want the Triangle book, I am more than finished with that.

We will just need to work out a time to get them to you if you are interested.

Um... I'm not remembering what the Triangle book is. :P

I was trying to put that under [livejournal.com profile] siderea's comment--she had been interested in it awhile ago.

While I'm still during my academic term, it would probably be best for me not to have either one. :)

The Triangle book isn't as high a priority; you around during PennsicAugust?

I haven't figured that one out yet--I am preregistered, but not entirely sure if I am up to the trip this year.
