Uh. How was life under your rock for the last year? ;)

Seriously tho, check the teaser trails.

IMHO, tho, Stephen Moore should have been his voice.

I knew it was going to happen, dorkus. This is just the first I heard that (1) it is confirmed by a geek to be good, and (2) ALAN RICKMAN.

I believe Mos Def as Ford Prefect might counteract the coolness of Alan Rickman as Marvin.

I don't know Mos Def enough to judge myself, but I'll grant you the p(rob?)ossibility.

They've been teasing this for a looooong time, and I cannot wait. I'm sitting here in my chair at work bouncing up and down in anticipation....

he said zaphod's head was inventive? they put it in his nostril, and thus don't have to render it. :)

I've been hearing bad things about Zaphod's extra head.

Word is that it will not come out of the top of his torso.

I've been a H2G2 fan since the early 80's when the radio show ran on NPR playhouse. I'm actually pleasantly surprised. I thought surely they would F* it up, because the early promos referred to Marvin as "The Depressed Robot". There's still hope that they'll get it right.

[livejournal.com profile] cosmicgarden said this in response: "It might be it's like a game of Telephone. Marvin the maladjusted sapient machine. Marvin the butler who's under the weather today but will be just fine after he's had an Irish coffee".

Marvin was referred to as the "Manically Depressed Robot" in the books. People who have read the books but not heard the radio show were just as confused when they heard him called the "Paranoid Android."

I've been tracking info on that movie for months. I should probably stop because there's no way it can be as good as the book.

I was thrilled to hear that Willow is playing the body of Marvin. What a pair!
