Have you gone to PT? They might be able to help pin it down. galaneia went to (I think) three doctors before someone in PT finally started making any sense, and that doc basically said that she was aggravating a mild injury by sitting cross-legged all day. (Correct me if I got any of that wrong, dear.)
Sometimes the MRI doesn't detect a tear. Sorry to tell you this. It is actually only about 70% reliable. I would go to PT and see what they have to say. Half of them know more than the drs. do. What did your dr. tell you? Are you seeing an ortho? If not, I would make an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon regardless and have them do a checkup and review the xray and MRI themselves.
Nod, the "doctor" I refer to is an orthopaedic surgeon. I actually saw him before I had my first appointment with my Primary Care Physician! ;) He (the ortho) is the one I have the next appointment with.
Good to know there's the possibility for error... :P
