So, I'm awesome.
You all know I'm into the knitting thing. Yeah. But did you know that I am actually cool enough to be creative with it?
You see, last winter I made myself a pair of dark green fleece pants for lounge and outerwear. However, they ended up just a bit too short. I could wear them fine barefoot, but when I wear them with any type of heeled shoe they are a too short and my ankles get cold. I pondered doing some kind of crazy hacked hem for them, since I do have some of the fleece left over (a lot of it actually), but procrastinated...
Until I saw someone in
knitting come up with the great idea to knit with strips of polar fleece.
I knew what I had to do.
I cut small dashes into the cuffs of the pants, effectively making loops that I could "pick up". (So that I didn't have to knit cuffs and then sew them on - I could now pretend that the pants were already knitted and I was just continuing with them!) I then made hems for my pants! When I finished I ended up with some extra fleece strips, so I knitted up a quick side pocket.

I rock. The pants are so great now. :)

on 21 Nov 2004 20:08 (UTC)Laurel declared that she wants pockets on all of her dresses after loving the patch pockets on her birthday dress. I'm slowly but surely mastering set-in pockets on her pajama pants now. (:
