juldea: (knitting)
[personal profile] juldea
New user icon, for use when I am talking about knitting. ;)

Which leads me to another question - does anyone want me to make a knitting-only filter? I sincerely doubt that knitting talk BOTHERS anyone so much that I'd have to make one, but hey, figured I'd check. No need to tell me, "I want to be on it!" unless you see a comment that says to make one, though. ;)

Intended on working on the gloves during lunch today, but instead spent the whole time untangling my yarn. I don't know why I have such problems pulling it from the ball...

Kewel icon!

I got some more knitting done today. Progress slowed down, though, when I knit a row I should have purled. Un-knitting rows always takes so much more time than knitting them does.

Thanks! I got it from someone on [livejournal.com profile] knitting (and yes, I did ask. Heh!)

I got reeeeallly good at un-knitting and un-purling when making the cabled scarf. Blegh.

Yeah, learning to cable is next on the list, when I finish this sweater.

ooh, what's the pattern for your sweater? stockinette or ribbed?

It's mostly in stockinette, but the cuffs and collar are ribbed. There's a bit of pain, in that it's multi-coloured:

Oh that's complex and cute! I haven't tried anything multicolored yet..!

Thanks! This was my first attempt at multicoloured knitting. Overall, I'm not sure I think it's worth the hassle. Hopefully, I'll finish the sweater before my niece outgrows it.

ugh! I wish I could learn how to knit or crochet! I just don't have the attention span for it, I think! I can sew all day long and make some pretty cool stuff - but as for the other, if someone gets me started, I can do it, but if i stop, I forget how!

knitting is super fun and I caught onto it pretty fast - do you know if you have learned English or Continental style? I learned a variation on Continental and I find that it makes a LOT of sense and therefore my hands remember what to do. I look at English and it makes nooooo sense, but that's what most people learn. (And it's just fine for them!!)

I have the same problem! I've learned to knit about five times now, and as soon as I put it down I forget what I'm doing.

:(! Doomed to a knittingless existence, am I.

It helps, the first few times you pick it up, to have a good description, with diagrams, handy. It's hard to learn from a diagram, but as a reminder, it seemed to work.

Mild yes. It would help keep my ever-burgeoning Friends page under control :-)

Why... Are you insinuating that I fill people's friends' lists?

*innocent look*
