Poached eggs are one of those wonderful foods that have a perception of "fancy" attached to them, and so people assume they're hard to prepare -- when in fact they're totally easy, which makes them a great way to impress people.
poached eggs are fancy? *grin*.. that's crazy! In Australia they're average breakfast food. My brother used to eat them with tomato sauce on toast as a kid. I like them on top of a tomato and red wine pasta dish with cheese melted over the top. That makes them marginally more fancy I guess.
