It's very odd to get an invitation to your stepmom's baby shower. When you're 24. And she hasn't been your stepmom for very long.

My friend of close to 14 years got married last year. It was a little weird to hear about that, since well, it's been so long since I've seen him and I still think of him as a teenager more than anything. He's a year older than I am, BTW.

If they married your dad after you moved out, you get to call them "dad's wife", rather than stepmom. Don't know if this is the case here, but thought I'd mention it...

"very long" is one of those fuzzy terms, especially when in the context of (some) life-long relationships. Just being careful about my assumptions.
