Question to self: Would Jane find it desirable to begin wearing a choker to hide both her scar and her tattoo?

(My Garou character has a bar code tattoo on the back of her neck because she's an escaped test subject. She also just gained a wide flat scar on her throat from a sword that very nearly killed her... but she declined an offer to heal/erase the scar. Though she wasn't in her full wits at the time...)

It depends on how the other werewolves see The Weaver and how paranoid they are about it. If they dont care then they dont care.

Oh, they all know about the tattoo already; it's been there as long as I have, about 6 months. I don't keep it in sight very much, it's hidden under my (character's longer) hair. It's the scar that I'm mostly concerned about.

I chose the glory of a battlescar in an after-frenzy glow... Would I consider myself dishonorable to hide it now?

ok, i know absolutely nothing about the game. but from what ive picked up reading your lj, seems the public person would wear the chocker at first, to hide the scar from general public? women's vanity and all that. and from there, character becomes accustomed to wearing it, and gradually forgets to take it off around other garou. cept maybe to make a specific point to someone. dunno, took about 30 secs to come up with this idea, so might be totally lame/worthless :P

Good point. Hiding both the tattoo and the scar when out "in public" is important, and not just for vanity reasons. Hard to explain things like that.

Jane wears the barcode - not the other way around.

The scar, on the other hand, is a fierce testament to Jane's strength.
Grendal wouldn't have had to make it if she weren't all that...
so I say she should wear it and tell the story with pride,
because anyone who can push Grendal to need a blade to defend himself
is a force to be rekoned with. Who cares about 'honor'?
"Damn, girl, you had a Fenrir Ahroun's blade in your throat and LIVED!
AND you're only a PUP!" (although I'm sure that will be remedied soon)

Hiding a battle scar is nonsense. Jane is TUFF... she should be proud.

But she wouldn't have the scar if she hadn't have frenzied, and that is not a thing to be proud of. Much less so if anyone thinks to tell her she thralled!

Two Snows bears a scar on her neck from her first Frenzy -
her first kill. It is not a "battle scar" but it is there.

It, too, was garnered under less-than-ideal circumstances;
but it is part of who she is and she does not hide it.
She tells the story without shame... despite the fact that
there are more than mere physical scars from the event.

Perhaps Jane is not quite there yet... in which case it makes
perfect sense for her to feel uncertain about showing off the scar.
It is something you, as the player, can choose to roleplay through
and keep as a hangup to be overcome later on.

This is exactly why I, as a player, and contemplating what my character thinks of it. :)

Although what [livejournal.com profile] crimson5 said above is true: she'd wear a choker in public to hinder questions.

then she should wear the choker in public, and keep it on in the Sept
because she doesn't really know how to feel about it. she can always
say "oh, well, I just had it on anyway" if anyone asks her about it...
and that way you can roleplay the conversations and internal drama of
figuring it all out in-game... which is what us real cracky-smacky-
roleplay-y addicts love to do ;-)

Nod, and it's much easier to "be" Jane in the woods than in this cubicle ;)

Plus scars are wicked awsome. But always try to get your battlescars from Wyrm-beasts. Edina has only one and its from a Warg. (Don't ask) and when she and Woldron traded scar stories, she found out that ALL his scars came from fighting other Garou. She didnt' say anything, but she was secretly pleased that her one battlescar came from a Wyrm-beast. :)

But yes, I suggest choker in public because a big nasty scar on the neck might attract some unwanted attention. Other then that, flaunt it, girl! Garou think scars are wicked cool!

Yeah. Wear the choker.

It's similar to a collar, which fits, what with being a lupine.
