tv meme, hell, lj-cut the darn booklists. I really don't need to scroll through all of my friends' lists of 400+ books...that's a bit too much scroll-wheel exercise for me...

btw, putting a </lj-cut> at the bottom is pro forma too.

I haven't seen any non-cut booklists. Guess I'm lucky.

And yes, closing the tag is A Good Thing. Although I've never had any problems with formatting and open tags.
