Well.

I spent the weekend with [livejournal.com profile] londo, attended cookouts three days in a row, got some more knitting done, and generally had a really really good time. Three-day weekends rock.

The only drawback is my sleep schedule was slightly shifted over the weekend, with the end result being that I only got 5 hours of sleep last night. I'm feeling pretty tired right now.

I like my SO, but I'm craving interaction with others. Especially since Crossroads is this coming weekend and therefore I'll be inaccessible to everyone who doesn't play in it.

Hehe. Dunno if I could say which one of us is worse off. ;) My problem is I know that I sometimes alienate my friends by spending more time with the Boy than with them. Certainly he takes up most of my weekend time.

DC isn't that far away, is it? And you fly there often... but still, yech.

I doubt anyone begrudges you spending so much time on the Boy. I mean, that's what happens in relationships. At some point I'm sure you will be able to do things with friends together, and things with friends apart. For my part, it's more difficult. My friends don't know ASL. So in general, if I want to spend time on my friends, I have to do it alone.

As for the distance... 7.5 hour drive between here and there (driving a bit faster than usual). Anything flying to/from Charleston gets expensive, but we'll see--Independence Air is sounding like they are gonna fly from Dulles to Charleston cheap ("cheap" being about $250 or so round trip, so it's a doable once/month thing potentially). So there's that, at least. :-)

Oh, we manage to do things with our friends together pretty often, I think. For example, all three barbeques we attended this weekend were gatherings of friends, mutual or no. It's the activities with friends apart that doesn't happen as much. ;)

I could've worked for Independence Air...

:-) *grin* Well, it sounds like you're having a lot of fun--and that's what matters, right? Laf. Anyway, if you're happy, then your friends should be happy (ultimately). Nothing wrong with finding a little extra time to hang out with just them though. ;-)
