I am a great big huge enthusiastic fan of Rit dye's Color Remover. I accidentally pinked all of my white dress shirts last night in the laundry (doh!), and one box of Rit Color Remover has brought them back to their glorieous whiteness. I can't express in words how pleased I am. Yay!

In other news, when walking over the filthy Malden canal today, I suddenly desired to go swimming. In natural water, although I wouldn't turn down an invitation to a pool if it were offered to me. But I want to be in water... Anyone know of a where/how/when?

Wow. I wish I'd known about the Color Remover when I pinked Nick's PT shirt.

Yeah, it was awesome stuff. I suggest picking some up from the states just to have on hand - I ended up using only one box (I bought two) to whiten all the pinks I had (four button-down shirts, one t-shirt, one pair of underwear, three socks, and one of those twisty hair towels). So now one sits in my closet for those "just in case" times.

The reward goes to [livejournal.com profile] londo for finding out about it. I called him from the laundromat (near tears), and he used google to find a few different solutions. The Color Remover wasn't -bleach-, so I decided to try it instead of doing possibly bad things to the fibers of my shirts. :)

Does it uncolour things that are supposed to be coloured?

There are a handful of beaches in Wellesley. Next time you and Conor hook up here, we could go to one and swim in the frothy algae soup.

Yes, if you put a dyed item into the solution the color will fade. The colored tags on my shirts didn't, though...

I like beaches. Are they lake or river beaches?

It's hydrogen something-starting-with-s. The boxes are at home. I will attempt to remember to find out for you. It's something you don't want to inhale, eat, or have on your skin for too long in heavy amounts.
