juldea: (Geek Girl)

I got my Geek Girl shirt in the mail. I also didn't go to Saxon. Those are two very insignificant good things to happen in a day deluged with bad things.

I have heard too many people today who have replaced their sorrow with anger. It is not a solution to reciprocate with a similar attack on civilians. "Bomb 'em all" will not make things better.

I am supposed to concentrate on homework or something.

I wish I were a cat. I wouldn't have to worry about terrorists or homework... I could just curl up in the sun and sleep a lot.

ugh...I know what you mean...my friends at work are saying how they hope we "bomb the hell out of them" and "kill every mother fucker in the middle east"...I don't know how they don't see the hypocrisy in their own words. How does hate cure hate? The only good point brought out by my friends was how the bombing weren't even over something tangeble like land gold or land. Just beliefs...it shows how beliefs can be such a dangerous thing.

Do we really know what the bombing was about? (keep in mind all of my information is still from last night, not had time to look today). I mean, the WTC and the Pentagon are pretty hearty symbols of gold and land (wealth and military power).

I'm not arguing with you. Beliefs are a very dangerous thing (re: lyrics to The Ballad of Desmond's Walk). I'm just looking for a satisfactory answer to... "Why?"

well, yeah, no one can know exactly why this happened until we get more information. But if it turns out to be the Bin Laden guy, he is just a radical in the fight between Israel & Palestine.

I said it on Slashdot and I'll say it here. The people who did this (and we don't know that it was from the Middle East, we thought that in the Oklahoma City bombings too) need to be brought to justice. But today is not the time for vengenance. Today is the time to mourn and gather our dead togther.

exactly...the last thing that the US needs to do is start bombing people and start a world war. Hopefully, they'll analyze all the facts (not speculation) before doing anything stupid.

I have faith that our leaders are intelligent enough not to do something like just start blowing the hell out of anything and everything. I heard one guy say he was ready to go to war and he'd go himself. Spoken like someone who has no clue what war includes. Especially a nasty one that this would entail.

And justice doesn't mean killing their innocent neighbors and ruining their innocent land. Justice means finding only the people responsible for these acts, and punishing them.
