My world just folded in upon itself.

I'm reading my friends page and see a post by [livejournal.com profile] ladylarken, read the comments, and see one left by [livejournal.com profile] static, whom I haven't talked to in a long time. I've known him for at least 5 years now, maybe longer; we play(ed) on the same MUD and lived in the same town and my boyfriend was his best friend and I'll even say we were good friends at one point. I go to his journal and read up on things, happily seeing that he's doing well. I decide to finish up my friends' page before exploring his any further, and then find a post by [livejournal.com profile] en_ki, whom I met at a Something Positive meeup here in Boston back in September and would not be averse to hanging out with again given the opportunity. In this post he links to thread in the [livejournal.com profile] pennyarcaderss journal where he makes some text-based role-playing jokes with...

[livejournal.com profile] static.

WTF.

I mean, wow.
These two people I know from radically different times, places, periods in my life, etc etc etc... end up amusing each other the in LJ comments for a webcomic.

It's a small world after all... Sheesh.

The world is really damn tiny. It drives me crazy sometimes. Then I realize I'm a member of two or three tiny (but international) subcultures, and so are all the other people I go small-worlding about, and then I'm like "oh, that's why".

Yeah well... it's still getting me. It's happened a few more times since then, too. 6 billion people on the planet, and I'm stuck with the same 50 losers... ;)

I think it's a norman thing.... because people from other places don't have nearly as much coincidence in their lives as we do, I think.

Yeah, but I got out of Norman... I broke it's gravitational hold and moved far, far away...

But the incest follows me.
