I feel like the end of Donnie Darko.

Gretchen is standing next to her bike, staring at Rose Darko. She slowly raises her hand to wave. Rose is taken aback but waves back. There's something there... something on the edge of their minds, they know it's there, if they could only grab it... And then the boy waves.

*poof*
