Acceptible forms of Income Verification for Free Care:

1. two recent paycheck stubs
2. social security award letter
3. pension check stub
4. unemployment insurance paystub or award letter
5. copy of last year's tax return
6. if self-employed, past three months business recods or last year tax return
7. if receiving child support or alimony, court payment records or court order indicating payment amount
8. proof or rental income-lease or tax records

Um... I have none of these. :P
Well, I might have my "working" copy of last year's tax return, but it'd be in pencil. They might not accept that. Blah.

is all that a nice way of saying that "i haven't tried to get a job" is not a good enough reason for them to treat you for free?

Nick pointed out that my comment sounded rude, but I didn't mean it that way. I was honestly curious to know if they'd be happy to treat the voluntarily unemployed at no cost. Guess not. ;)

Well, I don't know. I'll find out tomorrow.

Have you been unemployed for 3 months?

If so, just make something up... Seller on Ebay springs to mind for some reason. :) If not, call up your old job and ask for your last 2 paycheck stubs. They should have it and showing that your last job was WAY out of state should help. Finally, I could have driven you to Canada had you asked! If you don't abuse friendships, your friends don't feel loved!

*abuses you* :)

The idea with the old paystubs is good. I do think I have some of those lying around. But then again, I could get asked why I moved here without getting a job first. :P

I'm not entirely certain, but I think this is how you get a Social Security award letter. https://s044a90.ssa.gov/apps6/isss/bp-7004home.jsp

Of course, you'll have to wait around for several weeks for it to show up, but that's better than nothing. Good Luck :-)
