juldea: (sleepy)

I went to bed at 2pm today. At 4, I woke up to use the restroom. While there, I noticed that my foot was considerably more swollen than it had been before, and in fact, my toes were turning purple.

This was the last straw. I went to the hospital.

So, I do indeed have a sprained ankle which I should not be walking on yet, and even worse, I might have a blood clot in my calf which has been causing all the pain there. This last part will not be found false until Tuesday, when I have to go in for an ultrasound on my leg.

The good news: my ankle isn't broken, I'm not pregnant (not that it was a worry, but it's always good news), and I've succeeded in putting myself back on a "regular" sleep schedule. Because ohmy, I am about to collapse.

And I got ice cream. :)

As far as money goes, they'll bill me, and I have a chance of signing up for a free medical care program. I'm unsure if I have the right paperwork for them, however, so I might not make that. Too bad, because free would be the bestest.

Was there anything else I wanted to say...... hmmm..... hmmzzzzZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzzZZzzzzzzzzz...........

I'm glad that you went to the doctor - purple toes are rarely a good sign. :-)

Was it really as hassle-free as it sounds? I'm glad you went and are getting stuff figured out.

There was a lot of waiting. And when I wasn't waiting, it was hurry-hurry-hurry. Kinda like the military. ;) But other than that, it was pretty hassle-free.

Yipe! Calf blood clot equals not good. How are they planning to keep it out of your brain/lungs/whatever?

On the bright side, apparently medical bills do not affect your credit rating.

If I have one, I assume I'll get blood-thinning drugs to dissolve the clot. I'll just have to make sure I don't cut myself during that time...
