juldea: (sleepy)

My alarm clock went off at 8:15.

I rolled over and hit the snooze button for four hours.

I wanted to be awake. I really did. But I couldn't bring my mind out of the fog.

I don't understand what's wrong with me.

Your alarm clock goes off on Sundays?

Yes. I'm trying to control my sleeping habits. Because things similar to what you read above (although hardly ever this bad - four hour for fuck's sake) happen too often. I have to get a job soon, and sleeping whenever I happen to fall asleep and wake up won't be an option anymore.

I had to get my sleep schedule back on track for my co-op, and then a little more adjusting for this semester at school (gotta be up at 5 or 6am four days a week). I've already told you there before, but here it is again: I can't reach the snooze bar from where I am in bed. I have to get out of bed, physically, and by that point I figure I might as well stay awake.

I also more or less self-enforce going to bed at a reasonable hour, with no exception. On the days where I need to be up at 5am, I go to bed no later than 10pm. I've been avoiding caffeine early in the morning and late at night, and that's also helped a bit.

Not sure what else you can do. You can always make it so sleeping is less comfortable so you don't sleep so heavily, but that has drawbacks.

I like my rotating hours. :D Nothing like waking up at midnight one day, noon 4 days later :D
