[livejournal.com profile] baronbrian, you'll love this. Hopefully others will too :)

Astronomers using NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory have found, for the first time, sound waves from a supermassive black hole.
The "note" is the deepest ever detected from any object in our Universe. ... In musical terms, the pitch of the sound generated by the black hole translates into the note of B flat. But, a human would have no chance of hearing this cosmic performance because the note is 57 octaves lower than middle-C.

This kicks so much ass :)

And thanks for [livejournal.com profile] karlean7 for the link!

Yeah, I saw that a few days ago, it is very cool.

Music of the spheres. And I would expect a black hole to be making a very deep note.

Oooooo... I saw that. I want to recreate that note. Sure, you might not hear it but I have a feeling you might feel it. Of course I've been told it's basically impossible to do. But I've never let that slow me down! And I have the scars to prove it.

Hmmm...
For some reason I'm reminded of that one Howard Stern phone call where he had his female caller sit naked atop her subwoofer while he hummed in his lowest voice into the phone/microphone.

"You might not hear it but I have a feeling you might feel it"...
