Oklahoma: full leg + bikini wax: $75
Massachusetts: full leg + bikini + navel wax + manicure: $70

Amazing.
The manicure was total whim, I was interested and it was cheap. It was all right. I messed up two of my nails within 5 minutes of them being polished, of course ;)

I feel... girly.

It depends on the salon whether or not you have to make an appointment. My place takes walk-ins, but since there's only one lady that waxes, sometimes she's busy. So it's better to make an appointment here. You'll just have to call and ask. :)

The pain is gone within a minute. Don't worry about it. If you ARE worried about it, the waxer said that she did a brazilian wax (ALL pubic hair gone) recently and the girl who had that done said she took two Aleve painkillers before coming.

ouch!!

really though, it doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would need painkillers. unless you could get a shot of some kind to actually deaden the nerves there. aleve would be good if it aches afterward, but i assume it's just like a really big, stubborn bandaid.

Yes! That's a lot like what it's like.

Oh yeah, one piece of advice - make sure your waxer is good at pulling the skin tight before pulling the cloth strip. If not, it doesn't work right. The hair gets yanked, but stays stuck in your skin. And is VERY VERY VERY unhappy, especially because you have to then pull it again. OW. :P

i've been thinking about getting professionally waxed after i get a job and thus money. maybe a professional wax won't itch afterward. and someone professional would get all the hair off the backs of my legs, which i'm bad at.

Yeah, my legs aren't itching at all. It could be the wax you use or something.

There's a lot of joy in not having to reach around yourself :) You just flip over halfway through the process!
