It's okay, people, I really don't think I'm a slut. ;)

Neat news: I found V, the entire original series, on DVD at Walmart for $8.88. Well to be honest, [livejournal.com profile] gager found it. But I bought it.

I also finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix last night. Whee! I liked it, of course. I think book 8 or 9, if they exist, will end up reading just like a Stephen King novel. ;) I guess that's all I have to say without spoilers.

You just now finished it? I was done on Sunday.

*cries*
And then I woke up and realized I hadn't bought it yet.

That's hilarious -- I finished it last night at the same time Julia did, and then went to sleep and dreamed I bought it. I woke up *so* excited to finally read it... and was let down when I remembered I'd already finished it.

I'm getting my copy tomorrow. So I know I'll be burned through the thing by the end of next week. I hope, I hope, I hope... ^_^

I haven't finished it yet! I should finish it tomorrow if I have a good chance to read. I've had to work every single day since it came out and Zach's been here every night! Must. Finish. Boooooook!

I dont follow the series at all but didnt the author say there would only be 7 books?

Yeah, I think so, since the books follow Harry's education at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and they go through 7 years of school there. So books 8 or 9 won't exist. Too bad, I don't think her speed of maturing is such that book 7 will be as dark as a King novel. ;)

I don't know if that's too bad. I like Stephen King, but I don't know how much I like the Harry Potter books shifting in that direction.

But it would be interesting to see...

My little brother watched a TV interview with Rowling, and she said that was a rumor and that she would probably write more than 7. *shrug* I didn't see it myself, though.

I'm glad you liked it too, but it just the end felt rushed to me. Not that I -didn't- like it, but... Well, just... It was very disjointed in places. Guess I expected more with 3 years to write it. But then, I think given that the author had movies to work on, married, lawsuits, and a host of other things, it's not a surprise.

I wish it'd been 'cooked' an extra 6 months to a year though.

I have probably attributed any feelings of rushed-ness to the fact that I rushed through the ending. :) I kept skipping over passages because my eyes had noticed something interesting further down the page. Heh. Most of the time I'd make myself go back and read what I had skipped, but I'm sure I missed a few things.

hahaha! I just got the V miniseries in the mail today from Netflix. I never got to see the whole thing on TV when I was a kid. In fact, I only have one vague memory of the program. A patch of skin torn away from someone's face reveals the green flesh beneath. Oh... and Michael Ironside is a baddie. That may not be a memory so much as a fact of life in 80's sci-fi... Michael Ironside = baddie.

Hey, I have that memory, too! Perhaps that's a big important scene... I can see that it would be. Heh.

One of the other memories I have is of the baby twins being born, one humanish and one alienish. I hope that's not a spoiler for anyone... I haven't gotten around to watching the dvd yet so I can't remember.
