Today (yesterday) I slept from 11:30am - 5:30pm. Then I worked from 6pm - 4am.
Before noon on Monday (today), I need to finish writing my capstone paper (1-2 hours), do a short report for mythology/folkore (2 hours), do a nutrition lesson (1-2 hours), and go to the municipal court to pay a fine (for the citation I got in my car accident; I think it'll be $115, yikes).
Therefore, I needed to be awake. On the recommendation of a co-worker, I took a Yellow Jacket. Apparently quite a few people at Papa John's use them regularly for energy/alertness. I'm quite wired by it... jittery even. But I think I'm thinking clearly, and I'm certainly not going to fall asleep anytime soon. So that's good? Taking pills will not become standard practice for me, don't worry (those of you who were worrying). I don't really like the feeling.
By the way, I don't think I've ever been outside in colder weather than tonight. It was below 0ºF... below -17ºC. It was horrible. I got good tips but not spectacular, not like Friday night. Only a few people gave no tip, though, generally they rewarded my effots. That was nice. I like that.
Time to work on that list of things to do...

on 25 Feb 2003 16:38 (UTC)One of my fellow drivers came up to me yesterday and said, "I got a couple tips last night as good as you did on Friday!" I said, "Cool, what did you get?" and he said, "A $4 and a $5." I looked at him quizzically and said, "That's not as good as I got on Friday..." and he answered, "They were both from Walker Tower." At which point my eyes bugged out and I said, "Damn! That's amazing!" Getting that much from a dorm really was comperable to my $14 from a house.
I pretty much avoid making dorm runs if I can. They're a lot of work (especially late night when the doors are locked) and the tips are horrible. Of course, I'd recognize your room number and name and try to take that if I saw it :)
