spyware adware trojans viruses hijackers bah!

I've done a lot of research tonight on the above categories and more, since finding Nimda (a virus) and a bunch of datamining programs on my computer (thanks to reyjadan for the detecting software). I've come to the conclusion that some people suck. Why are these kinds of things even made? *sigh*

I'm happy to have a clean computer now. It was really getting damn slow (my clue that I needed to check things out).

AVG (http://www.grisoft.com) and Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com) were the two programs I used.

I use AdAware for the spyware problems, virus scans are something else entirely.

I don't like any scanner I've had that did it 24/7 on anything & everything so instead, when I feel like running one, I just use this free one from trend micro.
