You kids post a lot. :)

I'm finding it impossible to get enough sleep to feel rested. Perhaps I'll be taking a big nap this afternoon. There is a nice, soft bed in a warm apartment waiting for me. With two cats. Yum.

So, about the DSL. I called up to talk to Southwestern Bell about my phone service, and they tried to sell me DSL. Their pitch is free installation, free modem, $30/mo for 6 months and $45/mo after that, with a one-year agreement. I told the guy the offer was nice, but I was almost definitely moving away within a year and wouldn't want to pay a big ($200) contract-breaking fee. Then, he told me happy news! If I move somewhere that Southwestern Bell DSL isn't available (either because SWB doesn't exist, or they don't offer DSL at that area) I don't have to pay the breaking fee. I confirmed this several times with the gentleman on the phone, and again with the guy he transferred me to to set up the DSL service. So that removes my only barrier to getting it! I get the free installation, free modem, etc. for $30/mo until I move. Happy.

The weather is getting way too cold. We need to go back to 70ยบ days. Seriously.

that's awesome. the last time I talked to SWB, they weren't offering DSL in my area (I don't know what the bounds of that area are), and it was $50/month in areas they did offer. maybe I should switch to DSL.

Yeah, call 'em and check to see if it's offered there now... it's a sweet deal!

Pfft, my phone wasn't set up yet, how would I get online to check this message if I didn't come to the lab anyway? ;)

Heh..guess I'm just wierd..I love the cold...but then..I grew up in a place where 35 celcius (95 farenheit for you wierd Americans) and 98% humidity was a 'cool' day. I'd do anything to avoid the heat now!!

I'm a weird American who uses Celcius, no need for conversions here :)

I'd like to live somewhere where the weather fluctuates between 20 and 35. No more, no less.

Grin...well..Sydney is pretty close to that...in Winter we do get below 20 at night...

Up in northern Queensland though (well, more middle really) it might suit you *grins*..that's about the temps they go to..even during winter...

I could use some 70 degree days on this end of the country, too. All this cold and rain is making riding my bike to the gym and waiting on the bus not so fun anymore.

Yeah, my bike-riding has been severely halted, both by the weather and my newfound distance from campus. It's still bike-riding distance, but doing so would actually take longer than taking the bus, and that means waking up earlier! Heaven forbid that happen...
