juldeaThere was question as to the number of hotel rooms left at Arisia at this point. From hotel@arisia.org this morning:
"According to the hotel's STAR groups web site, we've used [87% of the] rooms in the Staff block, [91% of the] rooms in the Quiet block, and [68% of the] Active rooms. So, we should still have a bunch of King rooms available.
[Last week] I had just received an email from the Westin saying that we had run out of doubles in the Active block and had 12 doubles left in the Quiet block (we had already run out of Doubles in the Staff block). [We are now out of doubles.] Some Doubles will be freed up as reservations are moved from normal blocks to Access, Shabbot, Dealers, or other special blocks (or as people cancel reservations as they find room mates or develop scheduling conflicts).
If someone wants a Double, they should follow the directions on http://2011.arisia.org/hotel page and make a normal reservation and then fill out the Waiting List form and request the room they'd like. However there's no guarantee they'll get a Double (they're very popular, and there are fewer Doubles than Kings in the hotel)."
Note: if you try to reserve and indicate 4 adults in your room, it will tell you there are no rooms available. I think it doesn't believe that 4 adults can be happy in a King room, and since doubles are full, there you go. So tell it 3, and get a King.
