5 September 2002 08:59I rode my bike to school today. In a skirt. Not a long skirt. I do not believe I gave anyone a view they shouldn't. I was very careful getting on and off the bike.
I'm just happy to be wearing this skirt. The happy wearing of it required 5 safety pins. Perhaps if I have time today I'll pull out the sewing machine (I have many other errands to run).
I made it through a 3-hour shift at Papa John's last night without eating a slice of pizza. Free, on-the-clock pizza is what I consider an enemy at the moment. But what a tempting enemy... So yes, slow but steady. I work from 8-close on Friday, much longer than a 3-hour shift (more like 7-8, depending on when I get to leave).
I have two one-page papers to finish in the next hour and a half. Simple? I think so, but there are a lot of distractions. We'll see.

Julia:Man, I would kill for an american pizza right now...or an american hot dog(never let a Kiwi convince you to try a sausage here...ugh!) No one ever says, "Hey, lets go have some New Zealand food!" And there's a reason for that :P

on 5 Sep 2002 17:57 (UTC)The 'really good pizza' they have here has stuff like apricot or cranberry sauce instead of tomato and bree for cheese, chicken for the meat. I personally think its gross, but they LOVE it here.
Then you have Pizza hutt, which has the commercial pizza monopoly. They use Salami for their pepperonis instead of..well, pepperoni, but are 'okay'. You can get a mediocre pizza here, but nothing even close to the good pizza you have in the states *sob*

on 5 Sep 2002 20:30 (UTC)We also live about 8 hours drive from Wellington..and I guess, from your description, the nearest good pizza place.
Bugger.
just a side note...
on 5 Sep 2002 19:49 (UTC)though apricot sounds "interesting" (by which I mean disgusting--I hate apricot), there's no substitute in my mind for good, cheap, american pepperoni. almost overcooked so the cheese is browned and the pepperoni crispy. it's like... god.
