So I waited and waited, bided time, looking expectantly towards the morning of January the 29th, when I would see an orthopedic specialist who would tell me what was wrong with my knee.

Joke's on me!

So yes, it has been feeling better, or at least less in pain. I might have to take 400mg of ibuprofen once a day recently, instead of 800mg 3-4 times a day or a Tylenol 3. But I still can't put weight on it and I still don't have full range of motion. Things are still wrong.

At least the ortho's office was pretty well organized, and I didn't have to wait long. I got in, changed into the fashionable disposable exam shorts, and was pretty quickly joined by a nurse of the smart variety who went over my e-xrays and gave me a quick, "Does this hurt? Does this hurt?" lookover. Then she left for about five minutes, returning with the doctor, who did similar, with a lot of finger-poking at the knee area and some manual twisting and bending of my leg, as well as questions about what happened.

All which amounted to, "We don't know what is going on. You definitely have some inflammation in the [mumble mumble I don't remember] tendon and [some kind of fat pad?], and some fluid in the [mumble], but no evidence of actual injury. Take 600mg of ibuprofen 3 times a day for the anti-inflammatory purposes, continue babying it, and come back in 2 weeks. If it's still bothering you, we'll do an MRI."

I am pretty notoriously non-confrontational, so I do not spit in his face or yell at him to tell me what is wrong or do more. I just nod, sigh, get dressed again, and leave. And grumble all day long and eventually make this post. Perhaps I should have pressed the issue, but honestly, it is getting better. Sigh.

So that's my update. Bully for me, eh?
