What I want is simple - a very large, very detailed street map of the city of Boston. This is possible to find for a price tomorrow during some explorations, but I decided to look online tonight. When I get something in my head, I want to deal with it RIGHT then.

Basically, my idea is to put this very large street map up on my wall, and decorate it with push-pins and notes indicating subway stops, important stores, etc. Personal points of interest, not necessarily tourist points of interest.

So, not finding on a short surf a simple printable street map, I get the idea to use image editing software and the small portions of street maps obtained by such sites as mapquest and yahoo spliced together to make a very large map, which I could then at least look at on my computer.

However, I quickly find that these sites suck for such use. What is a really nice feature when you're wanting to look at that small portion of the map turns out to be a nightmare when you want to stick portions together. The way they label the streets is such that if a street is shown in your small portion, the street name is placed such that you can see all of the name. Well, when you change where you're looking, that changes where the street name is. Therefore, if you're trying to layer two small portions, you get pileups of street names overlapping and repeating and looking horrible. Bah!

I guess tomorrow I will just go on a quest. I want to go on a quest anyway.

As I was driving back from Brockton tonight, there was a sudden halt in traffic and far ahead I could see a car trying to change all 4 lanes to get off to the right at once. I thought mean thoughts about this person until the time when I was passing them - the car was stopped in the breakdown lane and the driver was leaning his head out, losing all the contents of his stomach. It was very unpleasant looking.

Today I saw what an Eagle Court of Honor (Boy Scouts) looks like. It was very... ceremonial. Regimented. I liked some parts of it (a real bagpipe player!) and disliked some others.

Jason looks absolutely gorgeous in a boy scout uniform shirt... must be my military upbringing affecting me. I kept staring at him (for most of it, he had to be up on stage and I had to stay out in the audience) and thinking how much I loved him. :) After the whole thing I was in some kind of weird completely schmoopy mood... you know, when you want to tell someone how incredibly much you like them but you don't think that words can even do it, yet you try anyway? I think he understood, though. And both of us don't know why it caught me after a boy scout function ;)

Well I have to be up in the morning for work, so I should get going. G'nite moon.

There were definitely candles, a LOT of reading, and just the main entree part of the buffet was about 20 feet long :)
