Jason and I went out today on a short run around town... we originally just went to Walmart to get Dr. Pepper, but didn't have ANY (the northeast isn't as Dr. Pepper-core as the midwest is) so we went instead to Shaw's, the local grocery store. They had one little column of 12-packs... compared to the 20 columns of coke. Anyway, we left there and went to the Radio Shack across the street because we're geeks... and Jason found things to buy! A nifty button that lets him switch between speaker sound and headphone sound, and this COOL Virtually Indestructable Keyboard. It's the COOLEST THING, and almost silent. And I got Jason's old keyboard out of the deal ;)

Things Massachusetts needs more of:
Dr. Pepper
left turn arrows/lanes
Papa John's

Did I mention that Jason's sister's senior prom was today? She had a pretty nice dress. Luckily she and her friends are being pretty quiet downstairs.

oklahoma's the best dr pepper place i've ever been. in illinois it's around, not rare, but not at most fast food places either. oklahoma, you can't walk into a store without finding some... heaven. :)

dr. pepper is based in waco, texas, so I would assume texas to be more friendly than oklahoma. but I really don't know if that's true; just a guess.

I had always assumed that coke was a southern thing, and that northerners drank pepsi. I had a teacher from like maryland that said this also. I would be much happier with a coke place; when I can't drink doctor pepper, I'll drink coke, but pepsi is still gross to me.

Actually, now that you mention it, I see Pepsi more than Coke in restaurants. Jason prefers Coke, so I see it here, but at Domino's yesterday the drink choices were Pepsi, diet Pepsi, and root beer.

Yeah, at restaurants and fast food joints I'm having to make do with root beer, if I absolutely want something carbonated. However, the lack of DP should probably be a catalyst for me trying to phase icky soft drinks out of my life... mostly ;)

you mean icky for your health and teeth and waistline, right? not for your taste buds?

Just so this isn't completely off-topic: Bummer to be without DP, kinda reminds me of being on-campus.

Now, to help answer your question about Floppy Drive ID problems:

A link to a (hard to find) MS NT doc about the error:
http://ftp.ist.utl.pt/pub/windowsnt/mirror-microsoft/kb/Q130/6/27.TXT

This may or may not be relevant, and I am leaning toward the latter. The context of this error for most articles I've found lead me to believe that this may be a problem with the Floppy Controller.

yeah, that page didn't help, because it says it happens after you do a quick format and we did a full half-an-hour format on one of those disks as part of our troubleshooting.

I removed and reinstalled the floppy controller, and still got the same error. However, it could definitely be a problem with the controller, so if you find out more let me know.
