I have pets, and I eat meat. I have no problem with people keeping pets, and I have no problem with people eating meat. Using the same animals as pets AND meat bothers me, though. I don't find that unreasonable.

hmm. well, this arouses my rhetorical side. so if an animal is being raised to be eaten, you shouldn't give it any love during its lifetime? Or some love is okay, but below the "pet" threshold?

I felt the same pang in my cortex, it seems. why wouldn't you love an animal just because you were going to eat it? that seems cruel. if my existance was to provide someone with food, I would hope to be delicious. :o)

and besides, $429 is a great price for an american bald eagle.
