I've realized over the past week that there were quite a few things that I didn't do that I should've. In efforts to rectify:

To [livejournal.com profile] ciole, I'm sorry that I forgot about your pants until I was packed and leaving. And I'm sorry that I forgot about them again until today. I will do my best to get them mailed to you tomorrow. What is a good address?

To [livejournal.com profile] goldbug, I'm sorry that I forgot again to clean the mess in the freezer before I left.

To [livejournal.com profile] combatfaerie, I'm sorry that I didn't get your skirt mended before I left.

I think that's all. I hope so.

Tonight Jason and I watched the movie Rushmore. We had rented Iron Monkey as a new release from his video store, and with the rental of a new release you get a free non-new-release movie, and I saw that in the comedies and said, "Hey, I've heard something about this, Chris McDaniel talks about it sometimes, and I think the guys quote it some... maybe we should try it." We watched it... I came out with no real strong opinion. It wasn't a waste of time or money (well it was free, heh). It wasn't a bad flick. I'd say it got a 6 out of 10. But I don't think it'll leave any memorable impressions... Which really confuses me as to why people quote it and talk about how certain parts of them make them feel uncomfortable (that's a direct Chris quote). As far as I can tell, in 2 months I won't remember the movie at all. Oh, well. Heh.

While watching the movie, I was laying down and Jason was scratching my head. Explorer, his calico cat, decided to join in on the fun and she jumped up to the couch and lay with her head near mine and purred. Jason scrached us with one hand each. At one point he said, "Here with my pretty girls..." It made me smile. :)

I had icy-hot on my sore back/shoulder earlier, but it has worn off now. Maybe I should put more on.

I love the Iron Monkey, but I don't think I've ever heard anybody quote it, and I'm not sure Chris has even seen it. I don't really even remember any memorable lines from it. Maybe that was a different kung fu movie?

you got confused :) I only mentioned the Iron Monkey because it was the new release that let us rent Rushmore for free, and Rushmore was the movie I was talking about that is quoted every now and then and I have definitely heard Chris talk about.

Oh... I know I've definitely heard Chris say that parts of it make him feel uncomfortable, too. He's said it to Penny while I'm around.

it makes me feel uncomfortable also. of course, there are lots of real-life situations that make me horribly uncomfortable but do not phase you at all.

as for the movie, wes anderson's films remind me a lot of old marx brothers' films: heavy emphasis on characters, with the plot almost a pure study of how the characters would naturally interact. hardly anyone really makes character-based films anymore, and when they do, they tend to be poorly recieved. I love character movies. I'd rather watch a movie with great characters and a poor plot than the other way around.
