maxi pad slippers Dear Friends, Christmas is tight this year, so I've been trying to find gifts that don't cost a lot. A friend suggested I make bedroom slippers out of maxi pads, and I think she's onto something! You need four maxis to make a pair. Two of them get laid out flat, one for each foot. The other two wrap around the toe area to form the top. Tape or glue each side of the top pieces to the bottom of the foot part. Decorate the tops with whatever you desire, silk flowers, etc. These slippers are soft and hygienic! They have non-slip strips on the soles, built in deodorant feature to keep feet smelling fresh and best of all, no more bending over to mop up spills! They're disposable and biodegradable, environmentally safe, and they come in three convenient sizes: Regular, Light Day, and Get out the Sand Bags. Happiest of holidays!

Victoria's Secret thermal shirt My mom bought me one of these from Victoria's Secret a couple of years ago, and it's absolutely my favorite long-sleeved shirt. It's in a dusty pine green, mmm. So I've been scouring every catalog since then, waiting for it to go on sale. And found it online today! Bought two, one in light blue and one in dark purple, for $30 each. YAY! I totally look better in this shirt than that model does, mainly because I have a nicer rack. ;)

golf club covers

Dear friends who are familiar with golfing,

How many clubs out of a standard set of golf clubs are traditionally worn with a cover? Three? The, uh, drivers?

I desire to make (yay knitting) covers for my dad's clubs. I don't know what he has. I would like to know how many covers to make, and how many stripes (to designate the 'number' of the club) to put on each.

Tonight I learned that if I find a person I feel comfortable talking openly with, I will forget that it's not just the two of us talking and talk openly to the rest of the crowded restaurant. ;)
