Well, no more complaining about money for me... it's all my fault. I bought Janke's entertainment system.

Well, my mom and I went half-and-half, and I'm supposed to consider her half to be an early Christmas present, which is quite a bit more money than I'd expect her to spend on me so I'm not going to look it in the mouth.

Anyway, my apartment will now be much better set up for movie-watching (and so much more!)... So I'll have to find a nice balance of nights to have people over, nights to do homework, and nights to work to pay for all of this :)

For those who are interested in what I got (directly from Janke's page):

Sony receiver - STR-DE845 400 watts, Dolby Digital/DTS 5.1 amp
Sony DVP-S360 DVD player w/ digital & composite outputs
two 4-way freestanding JBL speakers
one Celestion center channel speaker
two Celestion bookshelf speakers
RCA VCR (for my sister actually, since I have a VCR)
Technics 5-cd changer (also for my sister)
entertainment center and all wiring (hi quality, including Monster Cable and S-Video interconnects)

Yeah. Now I have to hurry and finish unpacking so I have room for all of this! :)

The Worst Paper I've Ever Written (see this post) got a B+. I'm torn between laughing and crying. I haven't even gotten the guts to read over it yet (I wrote it at 3am, fell asleep during sentences, know I made no attempt to keep a coherent thought flow after waking up, and did not proofread it after finishing it at 4:30am).

I just wrote a philosophy homework (1-page paper) over the different types of 'good' as described by Glaucon in the beginning of Book II of the Republic, and "my own examples" for those different types were all about either food or politics. It's quite obvious what's on my mind this morning. :)

That being said, Vote Smart is a pretty good site, but since I'm trying to access it on election day (dumb me) it's having some problems. I would like to find somewhere to view descriptions and interpretations of the state questions before voting on them. I, quite basically, can't understand what most of them mean.

Ugh, don't you hate it when you get an itch under your bra strap?

I was ballot #420.

I like to think that when friends of mine express difficulties, I don't immediately assume them to be incredibly dim-witted and give them advice that reflects this assumption. I think I assume that they are smart. I sure hope so. Please let me know if I ever offend you by assuming you're less intelligent than you are.

I am hungry, specifically craving cheese. Perhaps I need calcium. Except I'm sure I get enough cheese with my weekly doses of pizza.

Chips and queso. That sounds heavenly.

Hooray for DSL!

And for chips and queso.

Non-hooray for whatever is making me totally exhausted. :P
